What is ElecCheck?
ElecCheck is an inspection of your home’s electrical wiring and/or devices by an ElecCheck inspector to identify potential electrical hazards that could lead to a fire or shock.
ElecCheck will be available across Ontario, for homes that meet the criteria, starting on July 3, 2018. It is focused on homes built prior to 1976. Homes built during this time can pose a greater risk of fire and shock hazards due to aging infrastructure or improperly maintained electrical systems.
ElecCheck inspectors use an ElecCheck checklist to evaluate your electrical system. An ElecCheck includes one visit and will identify any electrical deficiencies that need to be corrected in order to receive an ElecCheck Certificate.
