What is SEO? How can you get better with SEO to bring more traffic to your website?

The best way to draw consistent traffic to your website is Search Engine Optimization (SEO).

SEO is a marketing discipline focused on growing visibility in (non-paid) organic search engine results as well as paid results. SEO encompasses both the technical and creative elements required to improve rankings, drive traffic and increase awareness in search engines. These elements include the words on your page, the structure of your site (content) and add links on the web.  The content of your website matters because the structure is very important for the search engine to understand. The better they understand, the higher the website’s rank in the search result.

The first thing you can do is practice the SEO process which will make you good at it. You don’t want to practice on your main idea and main website so the best thing you can do is create a junk website and practice on that because it will help you to learn. It will be fun and you can be excited about it. Find a way to create your own domain by signing up with Bluehost in order to set up your website. After you obtain the right content for your website, install the yoast SEO for WordPress plugin. The yoast SEO plugin is a shortcut and makes your website optimized for google. Before you can start installing, there is a lot of work to be done in the meta description and title tags; watching the yoast plugin tutorial is always helpful.

The next thing that you can do is crosslink your two blog posts together. If you have two blog posts, let’s say one blog post is about business and the other is about technology, you can then link the technology blog to your business blog and vice versa. Crosslinking is very important if there is relevancy between the blogs; if there isn’t, then you don’t crosslink them.

You want to always build links such as and put in the competitors URL then email them if needed. In the email, you can ask them to check your website out and give them a brief description of it. Chances are that a lot of them will ignore you, but a few of them will link back to you, approximately 5 out of 100. This will be very useful for your website’s SEO ranking.

Keep repeating the actions and you will get a hang of it.

Tons of experiments will help you get better with SEO to bring traffic to your website.
